Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, 2020 9th International Conference on Engineering and Innovative Materials (ICEIM 2020) has been held in full virtual style for 1st time on September 4-6, 2020 successfully. Although participants cannot attend the physical conference, but we think that the virtual conference was also a rewarding experience for them. Prof. Muhammad Yahaya, Emeritus Professor in School of Applied Physics, National University of Malaysia, Malaysia delivered the opening remarks at the beginning of the conference. Afterwards, Prof. Akira Toriumi, IEEE Fellow, from The University of Tokyo, Japan, Prof. Hua Zhang, from City University of Hong Kong, China, Prof. Hisaki Watari, from Tokyo Denki University, Japan, and Prof. Mayumi Suzuki, Toyama Prefectural University, Japan made the keynote or plenary speeches, respectively, to discuss the latest progress related to High Performance Ge MOSFETs, Phase Engineering of Nanomaterials (PEN), Change of Automotive Industry and Future Possibilities of Magnesium Alloys in Manufacturing Industries, etc. In the afternoon of Sep. 5, Prof. Tsepelev V.S., from Ural Federal University, Russia and Prof. Ming-Gin Lee, from Chaoyang University of Technology, Taiwan delivered the invited speeches.

In the technical sessions, participants also started to discuss about machinery, manufacturing and electronic materials, metal materials and nanomaterials, building materials and polymer materials, etc. Finally, several best presenters were selected among all presentations by session chairs.
